• Folk Dance Remixed Artist Sharing 27 April 2015

    Looking for professional folk and hip hop dancers, beat boxers and musicians.

    Folk Dance Remixed is a groundbreaking company creating unique fusions between Folk and Hip Hop styles with live music. Led by Artistic Directors Kerry Fletcher and Natasha Khamjani, the company rediscover old traditions through contemporary forms.

    We are hosting an artist sharing day where dancers will have the chance to learn some hip hop & folk dance, and beat boxers will collaborate with musicians. It’s a fantastic opportunity to join in a creative, inspiring and fun workshop day and meet new artists. To get a taste of our work check out our media page.

    We are partnered and supported by East London Dance and the English Folk Dance and Song Society and are currently supported by Arts Council England. We are creating a new show, Step Hop House, and developing our Street Dance the Maypole workshops and Ceilidh Jam experience. We’ve had 2 hugely successful summer tours so far and we’re looking forward to making 2015 the best yet!

  • Artist Sharing with Folk Dance Remixed!

    Folk Dance Remixed are looking to expand our company pool by hosting an Artists Sharing day on Mon 27 April, 10am-4pm at Cecil Sharp House, London NW1 7AY.

    If you think you’re free for them all please send links, CV and a short paragraph of 100 words as to why you’d like to be involved and what you will bring to the project, to hello@folkdanceremixed.com by 14 April, we’ll get back to you by 20 April at the latest to confirm if you have a place. Please note: places are limited.

    We’d love people to dress in character (see gallery for vibe!) – and bring a couple of bandanas if you can!
