OPEN AUDITION AND CASTING CALL
Folk Dance Remixed is committed to achieving greater diversity of gender, race, disability, sexuality, socio-economic background, faith and age in its company members so as to have a realistic and authentic reflection of UK audiences.
We’re specifically looking for dancers and musicians from black, Asian and minority ethnic, LGBT, Deaf and disabled communities to join our existing company at this time.
Come and try out for our diverse team of professional folk and hip hop dancers, beat boxers and musicians AND audition for a new indoor show, HOPE, for autumn/winter 2021-22. Learn new skills, moves, tunes and grooves and learn to collaborate together as an integrated team – merging new choreography with live music and masses of joy and laughter (as well as hard work!).

WHEN: Tues 27 July at 10am
Come and show us your work and how you might fit in with the team and our ethos. There’ll be warm-ups, sequences to learn, tunes and arrangements to play with and an opportunity for you to do your own dance/playing too.

You need: to be prepared to learn new moves and fuse folk with hip hop; to love working in and outdoors; to want to be part of a team to build and strike the set with grace and good humour; to be prepared to camp on the odd occasion and put your all into shows, workshops and performances with all ages and parts of communities.

What next:
- Choose if you’re interested in auditioning for the general FDR company and/or for being in our new indoor show – HOPE…for which you’ve got to be free on the dates below.
- Email us your choice with 3 links to your work, a CV and short paragraph about why you want to get involved and what you can bring. A current DBS will be a requirement to work with us.
- Let us know any access requirements in advance.
